Cesare Prandelli has stepped down as manager of Italy immediately following their elimination from the 2014 World Cup.

Gerrard Needs Time Before Making Decision On England Retirement

Jun 22, 2014 4:17 PM

Steven Gerrard has had a poor World Cup and is already 34, but he said he's not rushing his decision on whether to retire from International play.

"I spoke to the manager to ask for some time over my (international) future," said the midfielder on Sunday in Brazil.

"I am not rushing into a decision.

"It is a big decision and I need time. There are numerous people I need to talk to before I make that decision. I will make it in due course."

Gerrard said he's upset about the way England has been eliminated.

"I'm hurting very badly, broken," he added.

"We (the players) have to shoulder that (responsibility) and not just the manager and coaching staff."

England To Keep Roy Hodgson Until 2016

Jun 20, 2014 1:04 PM

Roy Hodgson will remain as manager of England until 2016 despite their disappointing World Cup.

"We're supportive of Roy Hodgson, we've asked him to stay as manager," said Football Association chairman Greg Dyke.

"We were not humiliated. They were narrow defeats. We don't see any great value in changing Roy. He's done a good job."
